August 18-24 Supply List

Here is the supply list for the suggested activities for next week, August 18-24. Feel free to improvise or to adjust activities to fit your family's preferences, skills and time allotment.

Sunday: A list of your diocese’s pilgrimage sites for the Year of Faith (should be posted on the diocesan web site, or consult your parish priests), plus anything you need to make a pilgrimage to one of those sites

Monday: A list of the names and addresses of all seminarians studying for your diocese (available from the diocesan vocations director or chancery), thank-you note cards (or plain paper and envelopes; one for each seminarian). Optional: prayer cards for the Sacred Heart of Jesus (one for each seminarian)

Wednesday: Crayons, colored pencils, markers, etc., paper, printer

Thursday: Bible (not a Children’s Bible, unless it has chapter and verses cited)

Friday: 8” of wired-edge ribbon (1-1/2” wide) per child to make ribbon roses, any color (red or white are traditional), needle-nosed pliers. Optional: green florist tape and floral stems (or green pipe cleaners)

Saturday: Ingredients to make gingerbread:

•  1 pound (3-1/3 cups)  all-purpose flour

•   1 teaspoon ginger

•   1 teaspoon baking soda

•   ½ cup butter

•   ¾ cups sugar

•   2 eggs

•   1-1/3 cups milk

 (Optional: gold decorator sugar or petal dust and/or white icing)
